I have the same error, except all the troubleshooting I've seen has told us to "just link our accounts" when there isn't actually a prompt to do so. Everything says that when you launch the game it asks for you to link your account, but that hasn't happened for me

Same problem here. I think I linked the account because I get this message, but searching on my account I don't have Epic Games anywhere

Contacted support, they said they are looking into it. Might be because suddenly a lot of people are trying to log in, seeing as it is free on Epic starting today for a week. So only thing to do is to wait and hope it gets sorted out

Hi everyone, I just redeemed the game through Epic Games and created and linked an account here. First of all, I don't understand if the account has been linked correctly, and secondly when I launch the Elite Dangerous Launcher it says that an update is needed and I have to check the Epic Games...

Can't create an account from epic and when I try to login with my Frontier account it tells me i dont own the game. Any help?

Well, I had the same problem, I'm here to show you how I solved it, it will seem silly but I just closed the epic, restart my pc when I started elite dangerous again, I already got the button to link my epic account with the frontier one, sorry if any word sounds weird I'm using the translator
(I don't know how to put a spoiler note)
I already linked the account now I have to wait for the servers to update to the epic version lol :( I'm still waiting

but thats the problem for most people including me... we dont get the button to link.

No, I clicked the Link button and was able to load into the game once but when I attempt to login again the Purchase/Redeem error appears. Also, the account details section shows no game registered.

Hi all I've just got a second ED from epic games , when I start the game it says Log-in but I notice in the my ED account it has the same account info as my main account, do I carry on with log-in or will i mess up my main game. When I got the new game I used an outlook email instead of my gmail address and later got an email from Frontier saying confirm my Outlook address which I did but now it's the same address is on my both ED accounts.
so should I continue and log in to my new game or will that ruin my main game.

I should add I don't get the 'Link account' or 'Use existing account' when I start the new ED launcher from Epic games.
I tried logging in but I get the message credentials are not correct and get sent a code to validate after entering the code it goes back the log in page and then send me another code and keep doing this. any help welcome none of the post I've seen don't have this same problem.

I FIGURED IT OUT, if you cant get the link account pop-up (for me at least) it worked to open my vpn (i reccommend ProtonVPN as its free to use and pretty fast imo) and connect to any vpn server and then start the game through epic games and closing the epic games launcher emidiately
