Problems getting Naval Progression

I haven't played this part of ED much, so I thought I would give it a go.

I am in an Empire region Codorain in Solo mode and have taken the 1st naval progression to get me to the rank of outsider.

That was days ago, since then I have run about 50+ missions for the factions, most I am allied with.

I am friendly with Empire, Fed and Allied with Alliance

I just can't get any more Naval Progression missions to appear at all. No matter what I do..


Am I doing this wrong. Sat in station Codorain doing mission after mission from smuggling transmissions, delivering cargo, supplying food etc etc

Thanks for any help.

1) double check you are in an Empire controlled station.
2) Be patient sometimes they take a while to appear, try other stations.

Sometimes it's been 4-5 days between missions for me. All you can do is keep hitting empire missions, they do seem to turn up eventually. Also, don't always take it the first time it appears - check what it wants you to do, sometimes finding the thing it wants can take you a long time but if you wait you'll get offered it again with a different target that might be easier to find. If it's something illegal where you are find an empire system where the thing is legal, go there and do a bit of trading or a few missions - eventually you'll be asked for the thing which is sold at the very station you've made your temporary base.

I noticed on the results screen after a mission that rep was 0%

Moved to another Empire system and now + 1 %

mmmmmm, still no naval missions yet

Ok my findings.

Always check on on the mission complete screen that the influence isn't stuck on 0% otherwise move as nothing is happening. Not sure if this is by design, but after about 30 missions of +1% rep, it stuck on 0%

I moved to another station and things started to progress. Eventually after about 10 missions, I got a Naval progression to Serf and at my destination I got another back to my base (where the 1st one was). At Serf now after 3 progressions.

I think there must be a counter; on my regular trade run no mission I do now yields any positive influence. I can still do the missions and get paid but they don't seem to do anything else. Even the Empire major faction is no longer going up, I think I may have maxed it?

You do not have to do those kinds of missions to get a Military mission. I went from outsider to Lord in 2 days by not doing all the missions for everybody else and just focusing on kill missions. Once I got the first Imperial kill mission I ended up with 6.
After doing all of them I had to wait a few hours for the normal get this and that mission. I was at your point for about 4 days, but once they come keep on top of the. I was also out at Solo, some good trade routes that. Make sure you can find Weapons, reactive armour and Combat Stabilizers. As long as you know where you can get them you'll soon fly through it all.

Update :

Since moving deeper into Empire territory, I have been given more missions and now am at Knight. Slow progression. Sometime nothing, then an influx of Naval Missions and then quiet for a while. I am running missions between 2 Empire systems and it seems to me, the bigger the missions you take (150k+ elite condas) the quicker you are given Naval missions, which kinda makes sense.

Also it seems they have fixed the bug of Squire getting the Clipper given to them when Allied with the main party as not happening to me.

2 more ranks to go and I can have my clipper. 3 Days out of trading in a T7 for this. Could have earned many many millions rather than about 1 mil and died twice doing this.

BUT

It has given me a load for fun. I have experienced the bulletin board more, reputation more, combat zones and overall the game is far more enjoyable playing it this way.
