Problems with global lighting and brightness

Many of you might have come across some issues with the new lighting system. For example:
  • No highlighting on planetary surfaces
  • Strange colors in the ships HUD
  • Dull and bland looking surfaces of stations
  • Nebulae and stars not illuminating the scene
  • Everything dark being too dark
  • Everything bright being too bright
  • Gamma and contrast being completely off
The image posted above shows the Orcacle station in the Delphi system. Left side is in Horizons and right side is in Odyssey. Both used the same graphics settings. As you can see, the skybox in the background is completely pitch black (not bad per se), the stars and nebulae seem to be just white dots with no illumination coming from them.

The station is rather bland looking and even the fires don't have the volumetric effects like in horizons. Textures and features are not highlighted, the grass in the habitation ring isn't even remotely visible.

The shield bars in the ships HUD are turquoise and the HUD itself is too dark. And there is a lot more you could point out...

However, I would like you to share your experiences on this issue in the report down below. Would be nice if we could get it into the confirmed status :)
