Problems with NPC pirates

Just target their FSD as soon as they drop into "normal". No NPC is pulling me out of supercruise and lived long enough to tell his buddies about it. :devilish:

"overthinking"
Since when is using the brain a bad thing? m)

He is right. Sure, there is a tech explanation for it, but that is no reason not to fix it. A good attempt good be, that NPCs once attempting to attack a player, are instances and are removed once their shields are up again and their hardware had been fixed OR the player has been destroyed OR the NPC has been destroyed. YES, this requires a lil more mem and cpu ressources, but that shouldnt be the problem. Thats why: its addressed and it should be fixed. Its not ciritical but should be on the "to be fixed" list.

And all those Whiners who try to derail from the topic of this thread by saying "why have you been interdicted in the first place". F*** O**! It happens and he has a valid point. If you never experienced this you may not playing much or you are not honest.

So, THUMB UP for the thread starter.

...So, why would you fight them if you respect your own time? The answer is that you guys either don't know that, or haven't got gud yet, or you are purposely making less credits for role playing purposes...

What better way to spend time than to pull over and make small metal filings out of overconfident NPCs?
For me the credit loss is worth it. ;)
X.

For those of you who target "components" of opponents, have you just gotten quick at doing this with practice or is there a quick way to accomplish it? From the perspective of a less-experienced player, it seems like navigating to that subpanel is a bit time consuming in the heat of the moment.

You can assign keys to cycle through sub-targets on opponents. (y)

Takes a bit of time to get used to, but once you get used to it, it's very quick.

never even use sub sys against npc that's just toying with them
but you gotta admire there "pah its only a flesh wound sense of humour!"

I just wish they were in a more consistent order. Powerplants and FSDs are easy enough to find by cycling previous a few times but I can never remember which ships put their drives at the front of the list and which ones have them at the end just before the powerplant.

Yes! I saw that in the past. My memory just lost it in the mass of operations that I'm still learning to use on the spur of the moment. It's already bound in my case; I will try to remember that and fiddle with it. Ha! A new wrinkle on combat - I love it.

Even worn down and about to be destroyed, they often just turn around and come right back at you, don't they? Tis but a scratch!
