Problems with VR

Hello troopers,

I installed it recently and the setup has been working fine and dandy but as soon as I tried to progress to ED it just freezes with a black screen. I've tried some of the fixes online but none of them seem to work and ive installed it on both steam and oculars rift.

It loads a black screen when I launch ED and then it tells me to wait, I've reinstalled it a couple of times but still nothing, any ideas?

You have switched ED over to using with an HMD? (In ED Options/Graphics/HMD with headphones, (If using the headphone )) ????

I keep getting this message while in the Rift "Sorry, is taking a while to load. If this issue persists, please take off your headset and check this app on your computer" but on the monitor its just plain black aswell

on first run on the oculus install you still need to login to the launcher, this cannot be done from inside the rift.

Steam just launches the launcher, unless things have changed a lot (I doubt it) so you still need to hit 'play' and as mentioned hmd mode needs to be applied.

I've just joined the Rift club and what I've done is set up using ED Profiler:

I have one profile called 1080 Elite setup which is the one I use to get the key mappings and everything straight (multi-monitor... key bindings in one Window Elite in t'other)

and one for VR, for when it's all working

Note the bit that says HMD Speakers. Also copy the Graphics settings for what I am told is the best image quality. If people know better please say.

The display settings are those being used on the monitor while you're on the Rift (I think!)

Before you launch the game in VR, you have to launch it once on your monitor in 2D. Go into the graphics options and there is a setting for VR/3D. Set this to "HMD Headphones". Apply it, then quit out of the game. Now you can start the game up and put your Rift on.
