Procedural CGs

Was thinking this about the current aliens CG where we've run out of product near the system.
Wouldn't the provider systems (in this case the ones selling micro controlers) WANT more raw materials to maintain a high level of product for the "main" goal?
These lower cost products "aren't worth" normally shuttling around. But if there was a goal bonus..........................
 
I think something different from CGs would be needed, otherwise the galaxy would be flooded with them.

Really it is something the mission system should be doing shouldn't it

Lockdown pending? Lots of Missions to restore order with much better payouts than normal to bring in the Cmdr, and have a generic bonus to bounties

Then you might have itinerant groups of Bounty Hunters moving from one lock-down or civil unrest to another cashing in the the CR

Just as we have the price of Medicines jump up in an Outbreak, we could also see lots of gopher missions for Medicines of all sorts, and passenger mission to take patients to Medical centres, the Black Market "Seeking Medicines" (as I assume they are for private buyers looking out for themselves)

I mean the system does it at the moment, but I think it could be much more pronounced and lucrative, so people would actually seek out systems with certain states to profit from the change in needs
 
Small scale CGs that are effectively a group mission for a faction could be a good idea. Using the BGS to trigger them would be a method that is fair to everyone.

Though, isn't this what mechanics like expansion and wars are already?

Yes, but none of it feels like it is.

Also, those mechanics are limited in that they only allow expansion to populated systems, no starting from a planetary base, working up to outposts in orbit, which eventually get turned into space stations with full shipyard and outfitting.

That would be really cool. I could see something tied to the boom state, allowing to do stuff like :

1) help build a new outpost (space or ground)
2) upgrade an outpost to a larger station (space or ground)
3) build one of the new special assets like the dockyard and whatnot. Maybe leads to an increased system security
4) open a new extraction site
5) change the economy type of one station in the system

I could see it at adding spice to the BGS play.
