Professions and short term goals.

Introduction.
Hello, english is not my main language, so the text will contain many errors and misprints, i'm sorry about that.
Also, i'm pretty casual player that likes grinding in games, if it's done well.

I really love ED game, but I feel a lack of motivation to play and to play differently. And after some thoughts, I came to the conclusion that some short term goals/achivements, with some long term rewards, can help me with that problem.

My suggestion.
So, my idea is to add goals, and combining them in the "profession system".
Now in game we have 3 main professions: Explorer, Trader and Combat pilot.
In game we will have new menu, called professions or "profession system". When you open that menu, you will see 15 goals that you need to accomplish, 5 per each of 3 professions. You complete the goal, you get the points, complete exploration goal and you get exploration points and so on,simple.

Goals.
The goals must be easy to understand. The goal says exactly what you need to do.
The goals must have random rotation and must never ends. So, after you complete one goal, you immediately get a new goal.
In order for this to work, each profession must have a pretty big pool of goals, at least 50 goals per profession.
The goals should be unique. If you create combat goal "Destroy 5 sidewinders.", you can randomise the number, but no matter what the number will be, i will only consider this goal as one of the 50.
The goals can not be failed.

My example of how that menu will look:
Explorer.
You have X profession points.
  • Overcome 15 kilometers in srv. 0/15
  • Scan the planet with gravity more than 2G. 0/1
  • Travel to Maia system. 0/1
  • Travel 1500 ly without landings. 0/1
  • Land on a planet with gravity above 6G. 0/1
Trader.
You have X profession points.
  • Earn 500,000 CR on the sale of Food. 0/500,000
  • Complete 3 Passenger contracts. 0/3
  • Complete 1 VIP Passenger contract. 0/1
  • Sell 100 tons of Minerals. 0/100
  • Complete 1 Gift mission. 0/1
Combat pilot.
You have X profession points.
  • Destroy 5 sidewinders. 0/5
  • Launch 50 missiles. 0/50
  • Complete 1 Combat mission. 0/1
  • Absorb 150 shield damage. 0/150
  • Spend 10,000 CR on repair of the ship. 0/10,000

Rewards.
So, you spend alot of time in game, and accumulated many points by completing the goals. How do rewards must work?
I think that for this type of activities, rewards must be completely cosmetic: unique decals, name plates, bobbleheads, paintjobs and so on.
And you get rewards by completing milestones. It looks something like this:

Explorer points.
0-----------2,000(Tier 1 Explorer Decal)----------5,000(Explorer Name plate)----------20,000(Tier 2 Explorer decal)----------50,000(Explorer Paintjob)----------1,000,000(Explorer outfit)-----

I think it's very important to add new rewards to the end of the list, no matter how ridiculous amount of points it will required. If someone gets to the end of the list, it's bad.

Afterword.
I think feature like this will be good addition to the game, both for new players and for old players who need some goals in the game. It can give you a reason to play, and to play differently, always trying some new stuff.
It also good, because you can easy update the system, by adding new goals to the pools and new tiers of rewards.

Thank you, for anyone who reads this, what do you think, do you like system like this? What unique goals do you have in mind?
I hope devs reads that forum and will consider something like this.

My main sources of inspiration: achievements (especially in Uplay where you have rewards) and Challenges from the game called "Path of Exile".
