Engineers Proffesor Palin

He is still locked. Been to Sagittarius A stopped by Jaques Station on the way back and sold all my data. Still no Palin... Got back to Ito and sold the new data. Still no Palin [where is it] Loaded up with new passengers and took a new trip to Jaques Station. Did not sell any data there but waited till I got back to Ito. Still no Palin!!![woah] Am I missing something?

You have achieved the meeting requirements of having travelled 5000ly. Have you got the 25 unknown fragments to unlock him and been recommended to him by Marco Qwent level 3/4?

Palin is a .
And the way to get to him is full of crap.

So dont bother then. Dont think he has much to offer that is worth the effort

First I thought also, that "force" player for 5k ly trip is "insane" but after I did it, I found that it actually offers quite interesting play possibilities and now you also can use offered passengers missions for decent pay bonus for this effort (for me it was 30M+ for 6k trip and 2 missions). Whole engineers invitation philosophy is based on getting players to many different activities which ED offers, so say about "its crap" is nothing more as only personal view without any effort understand why this was done such way. Yea, some players not like it, some yes, some may learn new things and have more fun, and this is imo main aim for engineers invitations. Second quote is simply to say untrue, because difference between 3lvl and 5lvl drives modifications is significant.

@OP: Have you Palin invitation? (like is pointed few posts above, you need M.Quent get half way to lvl4 first to be invited by Palin)

Understand?
Who the Hell doesn't understand this? [squeeeee]

It's the most obvious thing in the world! [yesnod]

But still... Crap.

And, of course; who's view should I offer but mine? [wacko]

I'm currently getting rep with Sirius Corp, so I can get the permit to Sirius to meet Marco Qwent. Then just need to get the 25 Modular Terminals to unlock him (yes, I've heard how hard they are to come by and I don't think I've even had one yet!), then gain the 3.5 rep with him to get the introduction to Palin.

It's a doddle.

Try this: find some two systems close to each other on with ideally 2 bases max close to star on imperial/federal space border and start helping local factions. You will have 90% of missions between those two systems and easily get 20 missions both ways. I lost my ship once with 30 modular terminals due pilot mistake :) and get another 30 this way. And it can give you ofc also other interesting commodities/micro-materials and offer later (allied factions) some longer range deliveries. It will also boost your imperial or federation rank nicely, so you can have much more positive outcome from this all as only modular terminals :)

... where you have to pick up an invitation mission from sirius corporation, which they only give out in the sirius system mission boards ...

just saying. most people miss that and wait for the invitation after getting the permit to sirius system.

The Mod terms are the biggest stumbling block. Once you have those getting Palin unlocked and ranking him is easy. Pharmaceutical isolators can be found very quickly if you keep within the 400ls boundary of an outbreak system. If you don't you'll spend hours finding nothing. lol like I did.

Take the time to gather resources for the dirty drives grade 5, because you'll pick up stuff needed for other engineers. I went from frustration wanting to throw my computer out the window, to actually liking gathering the materials and data once I got the hang of finding it all.

They need to fix the mission specific stuff because that is the worst aspect and really discredits the RNG. Exquisite Focus Crystals anyone? grrr

Hi geomon. Can you clarify that. I am taking missions for the Sirius Corp and often see the "unavailable" mission to get the permit (I think that's what it says). Once I am able to take that mission, what happens next? Do I just go to Sirius and keep checking the mission boards there?

You need to rank with Sirius Corp. Best thing to do is go and make a few million exploration and sell it at Avik (Sirius Corp owned system). then you'll be friendly with them and they'll offer you the permit. Or grind missions for them. Bounties would work too. Don't know if there is a RES in Avik, I forget. Maybe they take Federation bounties?

Yes, I am grinding missions for them. Currently Friendly and halfway to Allied (which is what's needed for the permit I think). Once I have the permit, do I have to get an "invite" mission from a mission board in the Sirius system?

Have you ranked up ELVIRA MARTUUK in Khun? You need to get rank 3.5 with her to get the invite to Qwent. You will see a mission with "invitation" in the name in one of the sirius system stations. it will have you jump out of the system to complete the invitation mission then come back to sirius just to fly another 10kls to the engineer

Yeah, I've done that part. However Inara says that I need an invitation from Sirius Corporation too:

HOW TO DISCOVER
From Elvira Martuuk (grade 3-4).

MEETING REQUIREMENTS
Gain invitation from Sirius Corporation.

Yep, I did this by doing data delivery missions between Sothis & Ceos.

When I got to Allied I got the Sirius Permit. I then went into Sirius & the first Coriolis that is Sirius owned.

When I arrived, the invitation to the Engineer was another Data Delivery mission, so you don't just get it, you have to do a mission to unlock the engineer if that helps?
