Profiteers from the "Lottery Bug"

Until now, I didn't see many player Connies around. But watching the traffic report of a quite "hinterland" system, I can't believe that so many players already got them by normal gameplay. I dearly hope that this will be resolved soon.

Maybe it was only one Anaconda entering the system 8 times?
As far as I know, multiple visits by the same player still add to the counter.

I can confirm that it is only human players in the list and each time you return there is an numerical increase for your ship type.

I'm in a big ship and there are rare. I made 12 trips to a station and it showed the type 9 visiting 12 times.

Afaik report shows all ships, including AI. And there is a fair amount of AI Anacondas around.

It does not include the AI. Case in point, when I started out in Gamma and traded up to a Hauler, I was basically the only player around. Entering a ship teeming with NPC life, the traffic report just stated "Hauler: 1". If it were counting NPCs, they'd have been something else. I did another test just pre-gamma too to confirm this.

Some players may have received a bonus this new year and some may have profited from the Luxury goods thing but there are a large number of players that have been playing for nearly two months so it doesn't seem too unreasonable given that more than a few people play way too much. I probably put in 3-4 hours per day and have 3 tricked out ships and 20 mill in change, have not done anything hardcore, and I wiped on the 18th December.
.
I would expect anyone who gained from the recent server issues to have the amount withdrawn at some point.

By now, anyone who has played a lot since gamma easily could have gotten an Anaconda. Even if you started fresh at launch, it is not impossible (I'm not that far off, if I'd sell my stored ships and gone T9 route instead Python...and a few nights on proper trading routes instead of the stale ones I have been using I'd probably have one). Anyhow, I'd suspects that 8 count of Anacondas is one and same player visiting same place several times :)

If memory serves me correctly, there were around 100k PB players. Given that number, with the expertise they have acquired it's not unreasonable to think that a fair percentage will already be running the high end ships

Traffic report shows each player ship. So if the same player with an Anaconda shows up 10 times he is listed 10 times even though he is just 1 person!

I'm close to an anaconda, currently flying a type 9 making 4 million an hour at a leisurely pace (played through gamma and just a single rare run as I found them boring).

I could probably get one during the next week but I miss the Python so may buy one of those again :)

I wouldn't really put it down to this. I'm a KS backer who's been through all phases of development. But come release day, I took advantage of the other options available to us with a nice tidy clean start.

I'm sure many others did too.

See, it's that picture right there that makes me think AI is included, I don't believe that 4000 people have passed through Aulin in the last 24 hours. Even if it counts your ship each time you pass through.

As has been stated many times in this thread, it is not a player count it is a non-npc ship log.

Try it and see, go to a quiet system and watch it increment on each visit.

That list, as said by others, is players only, not NPC's. Now if you take into consideration that it increments each time a player passes through, since same players could be running a route back and forth, then its probably more like 1/4 of that figure for unique players, if that.

I have a good profitable route so at the end of an evening I'll be somewhere between 20 and 40 of the count for my ship.
