Progress in Alpha

Does anyone know whether game progress, such as the new First Footfall feature, will be saved if achieved during the alpha phase of Odyssey?

I joined the alpha for ED back in 2014/5 everything and I have a vague recollection that everything was reset at main game launch.

Depending on what they want to test. In the FC beta, there was the request to make carriers cheaper. No such luck, as FD also wanted people to test FC interaction from the non-FC-owner perspective.
OTOH, in the Engineers beta, engineer access and engineering required fish 🐟.

What we got in one of the previous betas, though, was an upgraded starter package - on resetting your CMDR, you got IIRC 100 MCr so you could straight jump into a good ship (and e.g. fast travel back to the bubble from anywhere in the Galaxy). Just make very, very sure that you actually are in the beta (alpha) before you pull the plug on your old CMDR...

It's ever been this way in all Alphas and Betas so far. FD takes a snapshot of the universe, then we (you) get to play on this snapshot on seperated servers. Once the Alpha/Beta is done, that version of the universe is deleted.

It's alternate reality. It's a "What if" Milky Way. Men in Black's neuralyzer sort of a thing.

Yeah, maybe this time we'll get suit engineering for fish - will there will be time to go foraging for the new plants?

Edit: Or being a phased alpha they could have phases where you get max mats to begin with, or something.

Everything done in Alpha/beta stays there, as it always has done.

What happens in Alpha, stays in Alpha!

Also, I though the whole “First Footfall” thing was being held until the console versions drop? But I could have that wrong ...
