Prohibited Weapons

I would like to see more Moduls in game and came up with the idea of prohibited weapons for pirates and other criminals alike. you ll get fined for in fed systems for example but in return they offer some dmg advantage or insta kill the cargo hatch....?!

this would even nicely fit into the different roles you can approach in the game.
 
sure we got the hatch breaker. but my idea was more about an easily implementation of new variety among the moduls.
implementing walking around on stations or planets takes a lot of work.
but adding just some unqiue weapons and moduls is plain simple.
change the color of the laser, change some numbers and there you got the deadly green pirate laser which is prohibited in most allegiances.
or change the color of the mining laser, rename it, change numbers, make it a salvage laser scooping scrap inside your cargo.
ECM Bombs, smoke granate launcher, FSD blocker, energy bank drainer, shield ignoring weapons, and so on.

If you wish to suggest an addition to the game you have to provide a detailed description of your ideas. Right now it looks like "please add something but I do not know what exactly". You need to name equipment that you would like to see and describe how it should work. We can only start a discussion that way. Otherwise, there is a very high chance that your thread is going to sink pretty fast.

I think his post was concrete enough to understand what he is suggesting, basically ship modules that you would be fined for if scanned by a policeman same as carrying contraband.

A great idea overall OP I also think the more "powerful" modules should require permissions.
FSD interdictors are something not everyone should have imo, I think a faction should give you a permit or you buy it from an anarchy station at premium price. Some overcharged "illegal weapons" and whatnot should only be available in anarchy sectors and stations or the black market to spice things up a bit.

Basically a whole economy around ship modules would be great.


P.S: Is the Black Market not selling anything a bug or a desired feature?

I would like to see faction-specific ship gear that requires a certain rank to be eligible to buy and a certain rep to be able to use. If your rep drops enough, you won't be able to use the module.

weapons that do a little less damage but track flawlessly or
fixed weapons that do more damage or
modules that scramble FSD's from a distance or
scramble target sensors or something

Requirement: Rank 3 & Reputation Friendly
Prohibited in all allegiances
Efficiency very high.

Same thing could be done with independet factions high tech shield gen, or FSD scrambler, ship slowing weapons - which require a cerain rank and reputation and arent accessable and useable for everyone.
