For almost a year I have been obsessed with the idea of Volcanism on planets, and sad for it's lack of in-game reference (had I of not joined this forum I would more than likely never of known of it's existence). One thing that I thought would be wonderful would be to have a small area of space in which ALL of the types of Volcanism (water/ silicate vapour, Iron/ nitrogen/ water/ silicate magma and the rest) where noted and documented for all to see!
this was a personal goal at first, I thought it would be easy to find these things, I was wrong. I would often quite almost as soon as it began through impatience. and hence never found my own sites or anything of value so far.
But I see now this is not about me. it's about everyone! This is why I propose a unofficial open goal I call 'Project Eden'.
The Aim is to simply discover Natural wonders within a relatively tight region of space, work together to decide locations and go out and explore! Once the types of Volcanism have been found and documented. we can publish our findings on the one page for all to see! being close it will become an easy tourist location. where people can experience and see all that Elite has to offer with the hidden visual beauty that is Volcanism!
If successful, we would be responsible for creating perhaps one of the largest planetary tourist attractions after Thargoid/ Guardian related surface sites. wouldn't that be amazing!!
this is my first time in this part of the forum however, this sort of proposal my be more relevant in the 'Exploration' section but as this is directed at the community I posted it here. If this gathers enough attention then I will re-post a much cleaner, organised post detailing 'Project Eden'.
What are people's thoughts on this? anyone interested or is this a flop of an idea?
