I don't mean for this to be a double post, but I brought this up in dangerous discussions and I thought I'd summarize here, because it would be an especially fun feature for VR users. This is the TL;DR section, a link to the full post will be included.
I know everyone has their favourite list of must-haves and must-fixes, but this idea has been knocking around in my head for so long now that I had to get it out. If you’re a Rift user you might find this proposal especially interesting.
For those who don’t care to read lengthy forum posts (and for everyone else as well):
TL;DR
I’d like to see an in game flight recorder similar to the editor in Rockstar’s GTA V for PC. However, I’m not so concerned with it being as feature rich. The key features I would like to see are as follows:
-The ability to play back in game flight recordings from multiple POV or camera angles (including exterior angles).
-The ability for Oculus Rift users to be able to play back flight recordings from inside the rift with head tracking
Exporting and editing can be added later, if at all.
If you’re not familiar with the Rockstar editor, how it works, and what would make a similar system different from current capturing techniques, I will provide a brief summary at the end of this post.
