Hi,
I have posted this on Reddit, and they recommended I post it here as well.
While playing this game, I feel like it might be good to enable a system called contract so that CMDR can provide missions to other CMDRs, like transportation, rescue or other stuff. In order to avoid abandonment or cancellation, a bond needs to be paid while accepting. While right now the hiring cost can be paid by setting up different prices in the carrier market, selling and buying the same cargo. which may look like RMT, and at the same time, there is a risk that one of the CMDR here may abandon the deal they set up, and there is no punishment for that, maybe only the community reputation.
For possible functions, I have thought about:
For those contracts, if it is directed to a specific CMDR, both sides should operate in the status menu for a remote setting. Otherwise, it can be published on the CMDR's carrier for any CMDR to accept.
For the payment, it should be enabled for both CR and different cargos (i.e. Tritium <carrier always needs it and actually more useful than same value of CR> or Titan Drive Component<just maybe, they removed this from the carrier market for a reason>).
A time limit should also necessary to be set (i.e. the first station in the system needs to be done within 4 weeks, rapid rescue service might be expected to be done within 1 hour).
To avoid contract cheating (I feel like ED doesn't encourage PVP actually), maybe a lowest price limit can be set, like for transporting, I think right now the lowest price will be 15k/ton in the community, and this can go as high as 200k/ton.
Some people might say, “Well, I’ve never used this kind of service, so why bother?” But the truth is, people often don’t use a system simply because it doesn’t work well enough yet. It’s only when something becomes smooth, reliable, and officially supported that it really takes off. A well-designed contract system wouldn’t just be a niche tool, it would unlock new ways for CMDRs to interact, collaborate.
Lastly, I have to say that I got this idea basically from the EVE.
Best regards,

For possible functions, I have thought about:
- I have seen people hiring other CMDRs to build the colonisation stations for them, while transporting the cargo onto the carrier can be paid through the market price directly, transporting into the construction site seems to need to be paid by setting up different prices in the carrier market. Therefore, under this condition, the contract function can be used to set to ask a CMDR to do the transportation for them.
- Enable both price/ton and total price setting options.
- APEX service in the original game is not suitable for long-range transportation for CMDR, as there is a total range limitation, which is not very long, and the jump range for the adder is not very much. Also, the APEX service can not be used to board any CMDR's carrier. Therefore, the contract can be used to set up a contract so that other CMDR can pick them up from the station and take them to the place they want.
- At the same time, maybe enable CMDR to board as a passenger in the cabin instead of a multi-crew so that we can also take a lot of CMDRs at the same time for tourism purposes.
- It may also be useful when being released from prison.
- Transporting CMDR with their ship in space, for those ships with low jump range but requiring transport to a system at a distance, it takes time and is annoying to jump manually. They can hire another CMDR to pick them up and transport them, which should be faster than delivering a fast ship to a local station, going to the place and delivering the slow ship there. Or like FCOC carrier service, take a bunch of CMDRs with their ships to a specific location at a distance.
- This can also be used as a rescue service.
- Yes, I know there is the fuel rat there to help, but paying others may achieve a faster rescue service.
- This can also be used as a rescue service.
- Fuel transporting service
- Also for rescue.
- Delivering ships and outfits, but this may not actually save time.
