Proposal: CMDR Tracking Transponder

So I just got ganked, it was great. I was wildly flying around trying to charge my frameshift drive, popping in and out of silent running, cooking at 280% heat, evading a giant Python in my tiny Diamondback Explorer with no shields.

I got owned to say the least, but it gave me a great idea.

Why can't we have an engineering effect for detailed/advanced discovery scanners, that allows us explorers to 'tag' commanders who killed us on death and be able to scan systems to slowly lead us to their location anywhere in the galaxy?

The tag would be applied by using an engineered discovery scanner during combat, once the scanner pulse completes the other commander gets a notification "Tracking transponder locked!", indicating that if they kill you, you'll be able to go after them for a set number of days. The attacker will leave signal sources from their last jump for you and be marked on your galaxy map.

My number one Elite bucket list goal is now to slay the guy who ganked me, but the game gives us so few tools to extract sweet sweet vengeance, and the galaxy offers too many places to hide.
What do you guys think, is this something you'd like to see added?
