No games do this. Why do no games have anything like this? It would be absolutely amazing! I have to go through this literally every time I come back to the game, and really the drag of setting up the controls again keeps me away just that much longer. It's a total pain, and I think it could be made a breeze, and be beneficial for everyone!
Proposal: A subset for the training mode. The whole point is to give you a safe place to test all your control and make sure they're setup properly and feel "right".
Would be simple to an extreme, the training missions already serve as a baseline, I'm just suggesting something that could specifically serve the purpose with out having to fiddle about in the training missions, as many things tend to be disabled from one training mission to the next, and theres no reason to play through them just to make sure your joystick doesnt have it's bindings inverted and that your layout feels right.
How it would look:
The map plops you down already floating in space. Your ship is a sidewinder with SBC's, Chaff, and heatsinks, and otherwise an ultra basic loadout. At each location that you can FSD or jump to, there's a super small station with a landing pad just for you, and some cargo floating about for you to scoop up. Perhaps there is even a spot for you to shoot some baddies at, just to give your controls a good work out and make sure they feel good and smooth.
No objectives, save perhaps a completely optional checklist that doesnt end the map when completed, just there for you to make sure that all your controls are bound and working.
That's it really. Just a set of basic stuff to do to make sure everything is in working order.
Thoughts?
