I'm a premium beta and original '84 player and this idea has been in my head a long time before ED.
I love this game - so thanks soo much for many many hours out in the void living a childhood dream
Now with the drop in drop out mechanic of 2.3 multicrew I thought I would propose it here.
Its a fairly simple Idea:
You get to play as an "NPC" somewhere in the game. The flow would be like this:
* Choose a profession Police, Merc, Navy, Pirate, Bounty Hunter, Smuggler.
* Choose from a predefined loadout list
* Choose play target (Credits/Kills/Time)
* Choose Mode Open/PG/Solo
* You could also have a "Instant action" that randomizes the selection
* The client then selects a System that suits the profession (there could be filters for Fed/Imp/alliance
* Off you go
* it would be intersting if you could hide that you are a player - unless you use text / voice chat
* at the end you get a session summary like MC to show you your stats and rewards
The current 2.3 multicrew "Join Ship" function looks like it could be a template for this - but with no need for a player to join.
Anyhoo - keep up the good work!
