PROPOSAL - Fighter pilot alignments

With the up-coming launched fighters, please FD, can you align the NPC crew with factions/powers, and allow them to get disgruntled if the player starts performing acts against their aligned factions/powers. Also, give the NPC crew an option of rejecting the employment offer based on the player's reputation with factions.

I would love to be able to select my fighter crew from my local system, so they are aligned with my local faction.

Yeah it's a shame that they do not seem to be going into this kind of depth with the ship crew, because this is not something that they can really add later without getting the "F-Dev, you ruined level 50 pilot who I ground for months on!" complaints. I would have wanted them to have the obvious visible information, faction alignment, home world, political affiliation, plus a whole brace of invisible traits... they might not even be who they claim to be. NPC crew are a potential gold mine for emergent content and starting them off as nothing more than a ship upgrade with a face is IMHO a bad start.
 
It was in the DDF proposals that hired AI wingmen could have the potential to 'go rogue' under certain circumstances. I'd imagine quite a few people would pour gasoline on these forums and then throw a match if that was implemented. ;)

But yes, I generally agree. A lot of good gameplay could come from crew interactions. Why, hello Firefly. :)
