Newcomer / Intro Propsector limpet yield increase - still applies after expiry?

Prospector limpets increase mining yields. Once analysed, does a propsector limpet need to remain on the asteroid for the increase to remain or can it safely expire?

That neither answers my question nor understands the situation: I don't have any issues with collection speed.
You can work it out for yourself if you really want to know. Most won't know because is is easy to mine an asteroid before the prospector expires (if they even do).

Edit: From looking at coriolis they don't exipre, so your question makes no sense.

They expire when you go out of range or when you fire a new one while already having the maximum number of prospectors out.

I believe the bonus remains as long as the asteroid is still within your instance. I have not tested this personally, but it should be really simple to do. Limpets are cheap though so you can always just re-prospect.

I used to always make sure a "live" prospector was attached before lasering (I often fire off prospectors willy-nilly whilst the collectors finish-up their work) - I now don't bother re-attaching one as I am told that as long as you have had one attached then the yield increase is still applied.

A related question if I may?

I believe an A rated Prospector Limpet Controller increases the yield more than lower rated PLCs.

Assuming that's correct, is that true across the range (B increases yield over C etc)? Finally - What yield modifiers do the modules add?

Cheers.

A = 3.5x
B = 3x
C = 2.5x
D = 2x
E = 1.5x

If I don’t misremember. There really is no reason not to fit an A-rated prospector.

I would like to remind you that you are in "Newcomers and questions" area of the forum, so be so kind and tone your snark down a notch, will you?
