Propulsion Elements

How do you gather Propulsion Elements please?
Can you only get the from live Thargoid ships or do they exist in the Titan clouds?
How do you stay free of caustic damage in the clouds long enough to collect rare items? Caustic sink ammo doesn't last forever.

They are floating in the titan debris fields, and there are also thargoid ships there that will drop them when you blow them up. I haven't been to all of the debris fields, but at Oya the other evening, I was absorbing no caustic damage with my sinks, so the clouds either are not longer caustic anywhere or dissipate over time. A ship running below 20% heat can salvage debris fields without combat as long as you keep a moderate distance from patrolling thargoids..

Use Repair Limpets - no need for CSL's (I have tested with 3D Repair as it has 180 repair rate instead of 70 (or 80?) with 1D) repairs quicker than damage.
Stay there as long as you like (depends on how many limpets you can carry) - an hour or 1.5 is enough for me - getting a few Titan Drives in that time - I gather all the other stuff as it may have a use in future.

(apparently) Titan Cocijo is accessible now, not after 2 Thursday ticks!

Best choice will vary a bit on what ship you prefer. I've been using a Python with lots of Corrosive Resistant Cargo Racks, and room for other equipment too. A fast, reliable ship and patience if you're going to look for the rare stuff. Things will constantly spawn in, so keep searching around, don't give up after one trip around the Titan.

At Cocijo there is caustic, but no active Thargoids or pirates. With 4 Caustic Sinks equipped I got about 45 minutes of time in the cloud without re-supply, but the most effective way is to have a Class 5 Repair Limpet fitted and lots of limpets, as the caustic level is low enough that limpets can repair you faster than the damage, so you are more limited by limpets than by the sinks, but I would bring both for safety if you are unsure.

At the other 7 Titan sites there is no caustic effect. However there are Thargoid Interceptor and Sycthe patrols, that will fight with the AX NPC ships there. If you don't get too close and don't pick up any Bio-Storage pods they will leave you alone. There are very occasionally NPC pirates.
If you stay away from everyone to avoid trouble, then as there is no caustic effect you can stay as long as you like.

I've only been to Cocijo once, but it seemed like Propulsion Elements are more common there.
Make sure you aren't just looking close into the wreckage, a lot of stuff spawns several KM away from the body of the Titan, but if you are looking for something in particular you just have to be patient and cover as much ground as you can.

Scoop or collector limpets as you prefer, they are a rare mat so you can only have a hundred of them.

I know they exist around Titans as I saw a lot of them while at Cocijo today, which is how I learned that 100 was all you can have.

Don't try to get all 100 in one go and don't just focus on them, collect other stuff and leave when the last caustic sink has started to fill.

I visited old sites in the last few days and avoided the Interceptors and Hunters...today a was bored while waiting for Drive Components, so checked out a hunter.
Tried to annoy them in my shieldless cold running Cobra Mk5 by bumping them up their rear end, but they just ignored me...so I boosted into the face of one, which got it's attention. It tried to shoot me but I just boosted away and it got bored chasing me and started picking up bio pods. It seems you have to go out of your way to annoy them for them to turn on you.

Q. What are the greeny yellowy clouds the Hunters emit? Keep getting caught up in them but nothing happens to my ship.

I can only seem to buy size 4E corrosive resistant cargo racks. There should be other sizes, do you have to find a different broker to unlock them?

The 64-ton CRCRs were CG only earlier this year, not available from tech brokers. Apart from those, 16-ton CRCRs are available as a tech broker unlock. There's class 1 and 2 CRCRs also, but I don't remember at the moment if they are unlockables or CG items only.

You can get the 1 and 2 class CRCR at engineers Palin or Sedesi.
Class 4 is an unlock via Human Tech Brokers
Class 6 was a reward for a CG that was done in summer...there is no way to get these unless you participated in the CG.
I'm using a C4 CRCR on my Cobra MkV and it works just fine...did go in originally with my C6 CRCR on my Orca, but the MkV is sooooo much more fun to fly imo.

Kzak has already replied, but yes the Size 4 (16t) are the biggest you can purchase in the game at the moment, so just load up with several if you have space.
Sizes 5 and 6 have previously been available as CG rewards, but can't be obtained at the moment.

I am new to the titan stuff but want to farm some materials ,does anyone have a good build for just farming the mats from the titan sites ?
