I know when you detail scan a planet's ring system you see whether the reserves are pristine or otherwise, but same does not happen with the landable world itself.
I have however seen worlds where this is the case, and I'm sure not preset ones. Do you have to complete a certain amount of prospecting before you learn the state of the world's reserves? If so, I guess this is why winging up is better as you share the prospecting load.
