I'm enjoying it a lot too.

I actually feel like a proper miner now. We have all the tools in-game to find an ore-rich location, bookmark it so we don't forget where we put it, and then come back in a more appropriate ship to extract the materials.

My mining Cobra takes two forms. First is a full-blown exploration build, and then, once I've pinpointed a location to mine, I RTB, re-outfit my brig with mining gear, and come back ready to crack some rocks.

I can even leave it a few days should I so choose thanks to persistence.

Minig is much beeter now. I tried minig in V1.0. It was a PITA to me. There was no limpets so i had to scoop the pieces manualy. I mined only 50000cr and never touched minig again.
Then i had to unlock Lori but with limpets it was OK but relatively boring. I never mined again.
Now with the changes to 3.3 i bought 3 minig ships to test with what ship it is best. In the last week i mined more cargo and money then ever before.
Yes minig is now a interresting job.

Parts of mining are working well, you've got the discovery aspect which I think is good except for the fact high value hot spots are too easy/common/close to bubble atm I'd prefer to see a more expedition approach. Then you have the different mining options/methods which go from the outside in (again I like the principal and variety) but why not just go straight for deep core atm? Once you have your mined minerals you can get them back to sell relatively risk free (a shame imho and wasted gameplay opportunity for piracy). Finally when you do return what is there to do with the minerals other than sell for a high price? What reward is credits alone to a wealthy player?

In short mining is better now definitely, there are still many gaps missed Frontier has improved the core mechanics but not really done much to the gameplay.

I think squadron ships will help with this. Dedicated mining vessels outside the bubble with transports to haul it back and store on our carriers to be sold where profits are split between those who participated.

Glowing over-priced RNG rocks is fun for awhile but don't really add much to mining as the old method is a waste of time now unless you don't have horizons you have no choice but to mine the old way or pay up. Would it still be so fun if you weren't making easy credits? IMO

Horizons costs _only_ 6€ and you get tons more to do ingame.

Yes it would.

I stopped caring about credits long ago as I have 250m, more than enough to do everything with a Cobra.

Uni, are you on the Xbox with a thrustmaster? I seem to remember that....what’s the latest on keybindings for that? Is it the pixel bandits one....really jealous as I have been away since just before Christmas when I received the Xbox hotas...don’t get back TIL Monday.

Nah' I'm PC these days. Xbox is hard to look at after seeing the game powered by a GTX 1060, plus a zillion control devices at my disposal.
