COMPLETED CG Protect Panther Clipper Mk II Shipments from Pirate Threats (Bounty Hunting)

More like "get mildly competent" post and not in disguise and certainly not get off my lawn. More like, pick your own lawn. The game offers several. Learning to set an emergency warp out point you can high wake to (can't be mass locked) to avoid gankers is Elite Dangerous 101. I learned it years ago and have seen it brought up in SEVERAL posts not only here, but on Reddit too. It saved my bacon a few times just in the last few CG's that I flew in open during. I like the extra sense of danger from knowing there might be gankers out there. I don't always fly in open, i'll use PG's when flying with PTN or AXI or Operation IDA, etc. I'll use solo when I'm engineering and just can't be bothered with all that. Anyway, the game gives us options that can suit anyone's play style. As the kids say, you do you. 🤘
You're right. It's really not difficult to learn how to survive a player interdiction. However, I find the experience not at all pleasant and don't wish to deal with it anymore. The final straw for me was a CG many years back where the station got flipped to anarchy or something, and there were a bunch of people hanging around ramming traders as they came in. I just don't like dealing with people who want to annoy me to entertain themselves, so I don't go to Open anymore.

It's self-selecting. I think the vast majority of players prefer not dealing with that stuff, so they leave, and then people are like, "Why is there never anyone in Open?"

I don't think people know how good they got it here to even have these options. How many other games like this let you opt out of pvp in other modes if you don't want to do it. In Eve you certainly can't. You can try to care bear in high sec space, but players can still get you if they want to. Suicide ganking is a thing.

Well, apart from games like EvE, most online games that aren't 100% focused on PvP allow the option of private servers or PvE servers. So ED isn't that special in that regard, with the most unusual part being its all part of the same shared environment. That wouldn't work for a lot of games though.

FD offering a PvE only realm for ED would be fantastic.

i dont like being a target for sneaky snakes, hanging around the cg ,so just play in solo,if you have friends form a pvt group,np at all,if you like to chat to players in the station pop back into open, when leaving back into solo, its so simple the game doesnt change in solo.

it does to friends,in open if you target a cmdr you can send a message to him.wether they answer or not is up to them,in solo you cant lol well you see what i mean.getting late brains stopped.
Oh okay. I didn't know that about targeting someone. I was thinking of general chat.

The entire system feels a bit clumsy and needs reworking but that's a whole can of worms in of itself.

The System chat tab works across all instances - Open, PG, and Solo. It's an open channel that broadcasts to everyone in that system.

Once I'd finished unloading my carrier, (and forced my way through the various NPCs stuck in the slot) I logged into Open and went to the bar to watch the traffic.
It really is a ghost town compared to Mobius and found myself alone for quite a while...

Yeah, I didn't visit Open, but Mobius was absolutely heaving at the CG station yesterday.
