Amongst the usual clamoring of business today in Ashby City, Luyten's Star, was a group of protestors and activists just outside the offices of Sirius Free. Their Chants of a democratically ran Sirius System echoed the nearby halls of the station. In addition to the chanting, pamphlets denouncing Sirius Corporation and outlining the benefits of democracy flooded the station. Filling the hands of individuals and even trash receptacles.
A representative from the group claimed they were under directions by 7th Privateers Fleet Command “Why Luyten's Star?, Well we cant exactly get the permit to protest in Sirius itself. I mean, they make a lot of profit by being at the top, why would they want that to end? They aren’t interested in whats best for us. Sirius Free is!” Said another enthusiastic protester. No comment has been made by Sirius Free when asked if they were allied with this group.
However, a security employee for Sirius Corporation had this to say: “That’s a group called Ghosts of Col 70. Bunch of pirates. They hit a few transport ships headed to a Wreaken Construction site a few months back, claiming to be freedom fighters. In my opinion they are nothing more than a band of terrorists hell bent on causing chaos in the system!” We were informed that this was an off the record remark and Sirius Corporation has not made any official statements at this time.
We will continue to follow the situation here as new information presents itself.

The chants of Democracy, the sea of pamphlets that flooded the station just a day ago, only continued today at noon in Ashby City. However, this time just outside of the Sirius Corporation Office. As onlookers watched the group chant out against the Corporation for unfair political practices, a Security guard moved to disperse the crowd huddled around a make shift holo-banner that read "Let the Dog Star Run Free!" and another that flickered "Fight The Corporate Greed!"
As tensions continue to rise, Ashby City Security forces and Sirius Corperation Securities outside their office, have continue to use a number of peaceful tactics to disperse the crowd. Though, an anonymous tip off suggested that Ashby City Security would use continually more aggressive tactics, like a curfew in the station, should these protests continue to grow in numbers...
Im Michael Ray, and this is your non-biased freelance report from Luyten's Star.

What started just days ago in Luyten's Star has now moved onto the Avik System. The same phamplets flooding the stations there, and crowds of people, one even waving a 7th Privateers Fleet flag, Clamoring for a Free Sirius State. Speaking to one of the individuals about this recent development here in Luyten's Star, "Yeah, Im glad our brothers in Avik have taken up the same idea. Perhaps we can create a tiny democratic state. Though, I would love to see Sirius become Democratic!"
Unconfirmed Reports of similar pamphlets being distributed and causing civil unrest in neighboring systems to continue to circulate. The idea of a free democratically ran Sirius seems to be catching this part of the core systems like wildfire. Whether these protests will change anything or not has yet to be seen.
Next time, We get an inside look to the organizers behind all of this. 7th Privateers Fleet Commander has agreed to sit down with me for an interview! Look forward to that write up in days to come.
