Astronomy / Space Proto planets

Nice little article on imaging proto planets in HL Tau using the National Radio Astronomy Observatory's (NRAO) Jansky Very Large Array (JVLA) telescope in combination with the original joint NRAO and European Southern Observatory (ESO) Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) observations. http://www.abqjournal.com/742338/news/the-birth-of-a-planet.html

The actual paper is here: http://arxiv.org/abs/1603.03731

I really need to fly out to HL Tau and see what it looks like a few thousand years from now. I predict I'll be somewhat shocked by either their sudden disappearance or mysterious rapid collapse into fully formed planets.

Sadly HL Tau doesn't even exist. There's not a T-Tauri star anywhere near it's galactic coordinates and the only stars in the vicinity are off by a bit and are auto generated ones. It's too bad, HL Tau is one of the more profound star system discoveries of the past several decades.

That's very cool looking. I'd love to find something like that, while I'm out exploring. Rep++
