Prox lights always flashin, thrusters firing off.

I have continually flashing prox warning lights.

I am in dead space, nothing around ne, no limpets and my fighter is in the bay. My thruster also keep firing off as if trying to stop my ship from rotating. If I switch off flight assist my ship eventually starts spinning.

Anyone got any ideas? I have no damaged systems, and it occurs anytime I am in normal space. Immediately after dropping from supercruise.

And it persists when jumping through systems.

Not 100% similar but my Exploration Dolphin was spinning constantly earlier, exit to menu twice and still same. I restarted the computer and log back in and no more space madness or headaches CMDR.

Tried this, several times now. Problem still persists.

I have changed my ship, from anaconda to a type 9, the prox lights are no longer flashing, and ship no longer sounds out with flight assist off. I am going to do a few trade runs and then switch back to my Annie, to see if the switch has cleared this issue. This is a recurring issue though. This problem was affecting the type 9, previously, and also seems to have an effect on the docking computer,

I have switched back to my anaconda, and the prox lights are flashing again.

The instant I come out of the docking bay, they started flashing, and persist, eve after clearing mass lock, jumping away, and dropping back to normal space. My ship is no longer spinning out, though, so there's that, at least.

Still, the non stop flashing, is starting to irritate me...

Sounds like a bug, the spinning may have been related to the auto-rotation setting for station entry not disengaging properly, same with the proximity warning, thinks you are still in the station.

possibly a bug

first thought I had was seems like a keybind could do that or a macro
or a setting enabled that shouldn't be. or in a way that does not work or at least for your setup - toggles instead of on while pressed or reverse.

or something in the keyboard or controller
got kids, bad eating habits, cats, other critters?

fwiw a controller of any kind can be defective and never noticed until required to perform a specific task...
keyboards from every company were once hated for their reliability to be undependable at the worst times(like windows updates).

the thrusters tell me either the game is getting data/input from something, or yes, a bug
sc wont be affected noticeably by some keys but normal space would

the lights - do you have an slf on that ship? and perhaps a guardian one? these come with similar bugs
care to show the build that is currently the problem?

cookie crumbs don't evaporate.

the f/a off results you describe agree that input is occurring.
if you disable thrusters, then if an outside signal aka controller, macro is sending something, the game will tell you it cannot do it because thrusters are offline

test
get back with some more info on you, your ship...seems you've been around for a bit.

Sure, I could share my build. Is there a way to copy and paste it, as I have multiple mods, some new, some legacy.

I struggle, to believe, it's an imput issue, I use a Saitek X52 H.O.T.A.S. as flight and interface, and a PlayStation DS4 controller for srv and on foot, the controller has no binds to ship control at all, I keep then in pretty good condition. They are fairly aged, but, they function fine. The windows game controller settings panel shows all normal readings.

The PlayStation DS4 controller functions via Steam, and no issues are apparent, while using this controller in the S.R.V., or, while on foot.

For the X52, I have set up a deadline on all axis. And the spinning continued, until, I changed to my type 9, that flew fine, no flashing lights, no unexplainable thruster burn, and no spinning, even with flight assist off.

Then when I switch back to the Anaconda, maneuvers were normal, and while inside the docking bay, the prox lights were not flashing.

However, as soon as I approached the access corridor, of the station, the prox lights began flashing, which is expected, but they remain flashing as I leave the access corridor, and clear nass lock.

They shut off during supercruise, but then re-illuminated after dropping from supercruise, in dead space. With nothing on sensors, except the station , I just left, which was over 50km away.

The rotation issue has, for now, been resolved. I first noticed a similar issue a few days ago on the Anaconda, but switched to my Type 9, and had any issues.

I ran the Type 9, for a while, doing some trading. After being interdicted, and deploying weapons, during fsd could own, the pirate attacked, flew close, and as expected, the prox lights flashed, once fsd cooldown had finished, I retracted weapons and jumped back to supercruise.

Upon arrival at my destination station and dropping from SC, the lights were flashing, until I had entered the docking bay. I switched back to my Anaconda, and left the station. Everything appeared fine. I was interdicted again, this time, destroying the pirates, that attacked me.

During the battle the lights started flashing as expected, but continued flashing, even after clearing the debris field. Along with the odd thruster/rotation issue. And this persisted,as previously mentioned.

I am now out in my Anaconda again in normal space, at the aftermath of a battle, and now I have a fighter engine sound, as if I have one, flying right next to me. My fighter has docked and is in it's bay.

I think I'm going to try, un-installing the game, clear all files related to the game, and reinstall the game, to see if that clears, whatever,, this is.

if you use coriolis.io or edshipyard.co.uk , you can save your build and pop a link to it in here

it sounds like you are experiencing a bug they say was previously fixed, engineering sound effect or other not stopping when they are supposed to.

its funny for me that you happen to have the x52.
I have a few posts in the forums and many elsewhere for fixing its problems...

try your conda without the x52 and see if you can make it act up again.

if you have stuff filtered, you might not see things unless they are right in front of you, mats dropped from kills.

but as I also asked about the slf, is it guardian?
the bugs associated with it are pretty much this with your ship always thinking the slf is there and if it is outside then the lights are normal
BUT, the guardian slf's cause various tiny bugs to occur that often take a lot of effort to make go away.
These mostly happen though if you fly it yourself.

so, guardian slf or not
I would try removing any slf or srv or limpit controller, these are all items that can turn the lights on or off.
after removing them, I would log out, reboot and try again
the effects of the slf and the non stop audio loops often only go away after a reboot

I recommend you look at some of the issues others have had with the x52 as well, here is the most recent,

even though I am trying to point at various items that have had or do have known bugs,
I can also tell you how and why the x52 can also be the cause of it all.
