The sound design for the game is top notch, but if I have to hear that goddam "PRRRRUummMM, Lakon Zula India Lima,...." I think I may just open fire on the control tower. Initially I didn't even notice, but the ringing phone sound has gotten so obnoxious I now have my mute button on keyboard memorized without looking down. Maybe I should map it the HOTAS?

Any possible chance you could make it a more relaxing sound? As it is, it feels like a punishment everytime I go near a station. Don't get me wrong, the new VOICES are a great touch, but that ringing that preceeds each message is like fingernails on the chalkboard after the 100th time or so.

Please make it optional. Like a ring tone :D

Idk, that could get pretty annoying too. Especially if the volume is unexpectedly LOUD

Perhaps its my age, it brings back good memories of manned space exploration that has died a death over the last half a century.

It seems fine to me, but the volumes of different sounds play quite differently depending on whether your playback is stereo or 5.1/7.1. The station comms play through the centre channel and are a bit soft on my 5.1 setup.

Yay, something we agree onj, every time I hear it, I think wait, is this 1984 or 3302?, I imagine tower controller to be picking up and old style dial phone handset to speak to the commanders.

LOL Exactly!

Mostly though that mechanical RING is just a loud and jarring interruption of my space cruise. Rail guns and missiles are more soothing to my ears, even if they are following by "shields offline" "taking damage".

Aww, sorry man! I hate that when someone points out a noise that I didn't even realize, but now I can't stop hearing! Like a creaky radiator or a mysterious whistle. Or even a loud fan in my computer.

Anyway, I didn't realize either, and enjoyed it throughout the beta. But somewhere around the 88th docking, I was like... why did I never notice how ANNOYING that ring is before? Now I can't stop being annoyed, haha! It's driving me so batty, I may just never dock again. Going to have to build an all thermal harpoint ship, or stock an SRV to replenish mats for missles/bullets. ;)

Have someone tried just playing the ringtone without an incoming call on that phone? The phone call gives off electromagnetic radiation as well, and the ants could be sensitive to that.
