If they do something like this, they'll do it across all platforms. Unfortunately I don't see them doing it anytime soon™.

I don't think Sony makes their voice APIs public. In layman's terms, I think each game developer has to write their own voice-recognition code. I'm totally speculating here based on the very few number of games that implement voice controls (I only know of two). Otherwise Sony could easily add a feature in the settings to map spoken words to controller buttons, but they don't.

To the best of my knowledge you have H Hour Worlds Elite, Tomb Raider, FiFA and maybe one or two more - the biggest complaint I've saw is that it doesn't work well ie gets the recognition wrong.
This doesn't surprise me, since voice recognition that does work is cloud-based, using huge server farms with machine learning. For example , the only word your echo understands is "Alexa*" - everything else is sent to AWS.
* or "echo, amazon, computer"
ps - Frontier should just make an Echo app. "Alexa, all pips to weapons!"

Elite Dangerous does not have voice commands! Voice Attack is used a second program that does voice commands mapped to keyboard keys. A third software title Like A.S.T.R.A. will also add a simulated AI voice link to the same key as a response to the command. Its really cool stuff. But it's also something we wont see on Console.
