The only joystick option for PS4 (and Xbox possibly) Cmdr’s is the HOTAS 4.
It’s a bit of a stick, both figuratively in regards to the choice we don’t have, and physically, but it’s all we have at the moment.
The problem is tha, unlike PC choice controllers, it really doesn’t have many buttons. I’d love to dedicate all the buttons on the stick to my immediate flight needs - thrusters, fire group selection and firing primary and secondary weapons, various targeting and sub-group targeting selections etc - and offload all the secondary controls like low/high wake, landing gear, cargo scoop etc etc and tertiary controls like system & galaxy maps off to the keyboard.
As it is I need to double bind most everything so I’m pressing multiple buttons to do one thing.
Obviously I’m not binding EVERY control but you know what I mean.
Please, please FDev - I want to use the keyboard for more than chat convenience. Like most simulators, ED is one of the most button-y option-y games out there and having that extra level of game input flexibility would make things soooo much easier.
