Been playing for a while now but only found this setting yesterday. I’ve set my Field of View to maximum today ... what a difference!
- As you would expect, depending on the ship, this increases the amount of space you can see. I would estimate about 20 - 25% more “stuff” outside the ship is visible. This is both great for dog-fighting but also for just enjoying the view of planets, stations, etc.
- It also increases the amount of cockpit you can see. For me - especially with a curved 4K screen! - this really makes a difference for making you feel like your in a ship with windows as opposed to just “flying the HUD” previously.
- Finally, it pushes the entire HUD “back” away from you, which means you can still see the vast majority of it - such as throttle position - when pulling hi-G pitching manoeuvres.
It might sound silly but this simple change has made a huge difference for me.
