PS4 HOTAS Bindings for Chapter 4

I use the Thrustmaster HOTAS 4 and apart from a few minor tweaks have stuck with the default Frontier bindings as they suit me fine.

Does anyone know whether the default HOTAS bindings will include new default bindings for all of the new controls for the FSS etc... in Chapter 4? Otherwise it might take a while to set things up.

Lloyd - can you answer this one? And while you’re at it any news on the Cobra Mk IV for PS4? :p

From the PC beta videos users did not get any new defaults the Scan mode for Exploring is a menu option as is night vision... after that they get to choose the button map them self for these...
Navigation of the scanner worked like the Galaxy Map navigation...
New mining tools work of the hard points pairing untill you add short cuts on PC...

Thanks Graphite

I was hoping it would come with default bindings which I can tweak if required - its unusual for console games not to. I wouldn't expect it on the PC version as having keyboard functionality gives many more customising options.

They are allready Reduing the Right panel GUI completely and adding minour Tweaks to the left... with the whining from PC and xbox users about "musle memory being now broken" posts having to be ignored they won't force more remaps...
"Repair and reboot" has been moved for example so now it takes even longer to get shields back to 50%... or get your FSD rebooted at a neuton star...
(they invited PC players to FDEV to feedback on the game before public beta they never invited Console players...)

Confirmed..
Custom Hotas config is not Over ridden
Custom Hotas users have to set up all new commands manualy as required if not using menus..

Only just got up in NZ and am downloading the update now. Have to go to work first though!

Thanks for the update Graphite - looks like it could be a challenge!

Doesn't appear to be a new default binding for the HOTAS. With seemingly so much to rebind it's hard tell if they are all essential. Shame there isn't keyboard support for the PS4 version of the game.

So it's not just me then?

All of the previous mappings are gone?

Man, that's brutal - a year and a half of playing the game with the HOTAS and I excitedly fire it up tonight to find I can't do a thing with it except navigate the menus.

I don't even know where to start with re-mapping everything and I'm not going back to the Dual Shock 4, so this has kind of killed my enthusiasm for getting stuck into the new content. :(

Same here. The game has forgotten about my HOTAS completely... In controller layout a Tflight HOTAS context appears, but in the Controls menu I only have the choice between default and classic. The HOTAS will not contol the ship at all. It appears all I can do now is rebind the whole set up again myself... uuurrhhhghg

not sure how to map headlook :-S

I started to do that but I'm so crestfallen I gave up. I've been so excited to play this - even my daughter came home and asked if it had updated yet, whilst I was fiddling with the options and restarting my PS4 Pro over and over to see if it was just a glitch.

The wind has been completely sucked out of my sails over this, so I've gone back to RDR2 for now.

Disappointed in what has happened to the HOTAS. Frontier needs to address this :(

Was really looking forward to the new exploration features. Alas, sigh... Plan B.

I don't understand how this update went live without a default controller configuration for the new setup. This is going to be unplayable now.

You know who is behind this update right? :) :)

I have only played with a HOTAS, sad to see this was missed..

Not sure I want to deal with trying to figure out all those previous bindings...

I had a message from Frontier Support that they're looking to resolve the issue with HOTAS not working on PS4 in a future update, meantime, manually binding works for me (takes ages, but it works)

I have no wish to try and manually bind all that. I'm just going to try and learn how to play with a standard PS4 controller... I guess... at least until they've resolved the HOTAS issue.

I remember when they glitched it in a previous update and all the mappings for the SRV got messed up - took me ages to map enough of them to get by because the arcane menu is style over substance. Then suddenly it was "fixed" again in another update and I had to get used to it all over again.

So there's no way I'm manually mapping everything from memory - I've made my peace with that fact I won't be playing it again until it's fixed.

You know, playing the game on console feels a bit like being treated as a second class citizen, sometimes.
