I transferred from PS4 to PC and now want to buy Odyssey. The problem is when I try to purchase Odyssey on Steam, it says I must first purchase Elite. Is there a work around?
It's an online game, all your progress is on Amazon Web Servers somewhere. It is linked to whatever email you use to login though. Wouldn't think you'd need to buy again unless there is an issue with your base game and the expansion being on different game hosting platforms.I don't mind buying the base game again, but if I reinstall won't it delete all my saved progress?

Careful OP, lots of people lying to you todayI am also a PS4 > PC > Odyssey player. Unfortunately you will need to buy the Elite Dangerous Base game as well as the Odyssey Upgrade (DLC).

I didn't see it for sale on the Frontier website. If that option was available that would be great!@OP, why do you need to buy the DLC specifically on Steam? Can you not buy it directly from Frontier?
Having to buy something you already have because you had already paid for it once sounds crazy.
I play via the Frontier launcher. How do you log into Elite on PC, is it via the Frontier launcher or Steam?
That will determine where you need to get the DLC from.
Thanks, I will check out the Frontier website again to see if it's for sale. The free copy of ED that you get for PC via the transfer portal is from Frontier's online store. Its not linked in any way to Steam.
You can buy Odyssey on Frontier's store and expand your copy that way, or you can buy both again on Steam. But why pay for the base game again?
Thanks, Robert. When I login and go to My Downloadable products I see the purchase of Odyssey from today. Do the bindings and journal files contain the player stats that I have accumulated already?Go back to the Frontier store, login and go to My Downloadable Products, where you should find a link to download the game launcher (which, when installed, will install the game).
Don't forget to copy bindings, journal files, and the visited stars cache when moving to a new PC.
The bindings files contain your controller/HOTAS/mouse/keyboard/etc settings. Thanks, Robert. When I login and go to My Downloadable products I see the purchase of Odyssey from today. Do the bindings and journal files contain the player stats that I have accumulated already?
