Newcomer / Intro PSA : 40% off on Frontier Store

This is probably not the right place to post it, but I can't post in announcements so this'll have to do.

So for anybody who hasn't seen this yet, FDev have a 40% Halloween sale on quite a lot of the content in their store right now.

Great time to not only say thanks for all the hard work they've done on "Beyond", but also stock up on some goodies.

It is worth noting also that according to leaks the Steam Halloween Sale is 29th Oct to 1st Nov so main game and horizons could/may be at sale price then in the Frontier store as well as on steam (some reports said 26th Oct start so maybe this evening UK time but the 29th looks more likely).

In the current sale, I can recommend the COVAS "Celeste" - very pleasant accent.


P.S. Not at sale price but the Skull is really well done, as is Jack O'Lantern (had him on the dash since last year :) ).

I was quite tempted to add "Celeste" to my basket, but several people said she sounds very different in the cockpit (disappointingly so) compared to her demo reel. Still, good to hear a counterpoint to those. I have a few days to decide... :)

What I wonder is bobbleheads. I was only able to place each once in my ship. I didn't have time to travel to another ship and try, so anybody knows: if you bought a bobblehead, is it one-use-only per ship, or totally in the game? If it's the second, I consider them a bit of a letdown, as I'm not ready to spend money to buy the same bobbleheads several times, just to have them available in different ships.

Like with all such items you should be able to install the same bobblehead in all your ships.

Celeste is my least used COVAS because of this, but everyone likes different things so perhaps you may be pleasantly surprised. Verity is still my favourite. If they decide to bring out a version of the English Imperial station docking assistant then that may change!

I got a new paint job for MSS Fang. I wallet breaking $1.75 and the red serpent markings are beautiful. Still holding out that they'll eventually have a hula girl for the dash. Checked the ship kit for the Cobra and ehhh, it didn't do much for me. I liked one of those back bumper things but that was about it. If I got one it would just end up looking like a bigger version of MSS Sunrise. Next ship will get the ship kit treatment.

I considered a US flag but then realized I'd have enemies EVERYWHERE. Best to just stay under the radar so to speak and besides, the missus and I are moving to Australia sometime next year and the thought of scraping off that old paint seems like too much of a chore.

I'd like the Aussie female traffic voice (prefer the one from my iPad's SIRI though) or the Norwegian-accent that I get from the Eden HCS voicepack (Idun Vik).

As for CobraIII paints - my favourite is the Norwegian national flag (have it on a Viper too).

Too bad they don't have a merchandise or game sale this time...Like I need another account...Then again an additional account could be for friends to who never played the game to enjoy being blown up while your main account is safe!

One bobblehead can be placed in every ship you own.
It can only be used once per each ship.
Multiple bobbleheads can be added to each ship.

The exception: If buying the letters each can be used more than once e.g. HOOPLAH.

Maybe someday they will bring back the Braben Bobblehead.

Not to worry a long super cruise like the one to Hutton Orbital will scrape most of the paint off.
