PvP PSA: Hatch Breakers now go through shields - ruled WAI

The thread you link to refers to one of the experimental builds included in the 2.2 beta. The change was abandoned, never included in the 2.2 patch notes, and their behavior was consistent with the code not moving to live until 2.4 dropped. I mine in RES sites and deal with NPCs with hatch breakers all the time.

Yep. Nearly had a fit day-one of the patch when I got interdicted, heard the limpet launch, thought "HA! Stupid AI!", then my ship started vomiting cargo all over the place.

Finally found a use for the ECM i've felt obliged to run on my bigger ships. Choice validated!

Urmmm, we've been able to send hatchbreaker limpets through shields for a long while now. But still, good job pointing it out, just in case anyone else doesn't know.

I've attempted to rob Thargoids with hatchbreakers. Result: Upset Thargoid and no cargo dropped.

RES pirates did not use them since 2.2. They only started using them again now.
