Yes, they announced it because LEP owners were voicing their concerns, so they hoped to ease those concerns by saying what they did, but now it's opened another can of worms...

However, I completely understand what you're saying, Frontier have been very tight lipped the last year or two and I will admit I did expect them to show more. But, I kinda guessed there was going to be paid for content besides the free stuff, so I wasn't worried in that sense.

I don't see any can of worms myself. There's a paid for DLC of some sort aimed at end of next year. I have no issue not knowing what it is, or indeed if that date slips. It simply lets me know there is some other development of note going on, and not just "Beyond" which to me seemed a little less than I would have hoped for it that's all that was going on.

As I said, just that little little extra bit of information about next years road map, has made a significant difference to my view of next year. Hence me suggesting it should have been included (at the weekend).

That's because you are a reasonable person, there are however people who are complaining about the paid updates in 2018.

I meant by people now wanting clarification on the paid content and what it is etc.

Yeah, I do wonder why they didn't mention it, probably because they just wanted to talk about the free updates and not bring money into that.

For all we know, they could have planned to tell us in the next few weeks or months, but, people want answers now and here so all this debating has kicked off aha

It is obvious why FD does it as seen by posts on this thread. They always something "better" around the corner and that is almost postulated to wait than enjoy game. It is similar to waiting for next Jesus patch.

On this issue alone no wonder old studios tell nothing till few months till release. People's obsession of loss of value for stuff they might acquire now and trade in for some very subjective gains tomorrow is just astonishing.
