Professor Ishmael Palin has established a permanent base of operations in the Arque system.
Aegis Research confirmed the news with a statement from Professor Alba Tesreau:
“Having fled the Maia system, Professor Palin and his staff have installed their equipment at the planetary port Abel Laboratory on Arque 4 E.”
“All of the engineering services previously offered by Professor Palin are now available at his new location. His study of meta-alloys and other Thargoid-related materials has also resumed.”
“The megaship Carson’s Spring, which facilitated an emergency evacuation of the Palin Research Centre, has left the Arque system to resume other duties.”

Thank God they gave him a base in the bubble, and right here in Alliance space no less... I hated having to go all the way out to Maia for a thruster upgrade when i had other things pinned. Thank you FDev!

yes the work shop has been open and active for many hours now.. You can't do remote engineering with an engineer present you don't get both...

Now get our Jameson engineer to talk to that guy out in colonia to find out how he does level 5 light weight sensors.

Back when all the Thargoid stuff was kicking off, I thought it was the Fed's who sent a ship to defend his base?
Or, was the implication supposed to be that the Fed's were there to keep him under some kind of "house-arrest"?
Finally, something actually useful came out of all this thargoid fuss.
Saw a post just now claiming that the shipyard has been removed. Anyone in the area able to check that?
I don't feel like flying there just to check that, but on Arque System map Abel Laboratory has shipyard listed with other facilities. Nothing changed there.
It would be really unfair to remove it. After all Palin is just renting a place there, why should they close whole shipyard because of him?

Well, to be honest a lot of things that are now Alliance started off as Fed.
Even Mic Turner was senior in the Fed navy. Lead the Fed fleet colonise Olgrea or somewhere.
Lots of old Fed stuff becomes Alliance. Heck, we even took a crack at Sol. Would have got it too, if it hadn’t been for those pesky meddling Devs.
