PSA: sitting in the bay blocks the pad!

Seriously CMDRs!

If you sit in the single large bay of a rescue ship, you're not helping.

You cause everyone else to have to go to solo because you're still blocking the pad.

Don't block the pads. Pad blocking is evil.

It causes many deaths because people can't rescue other people or get blown up by caustic damage.

Don't sit in the hangar in outposts, or at rescue ships.

You're blocking the pad.

I hope you got the message that sitting in hangars is blocking that pad.

Never have I been so tempted to just launch torpedoes at an outpost than when I ran into somebody idling on the pad for the third time last night.

"Yes, I could wait for them to leave but I need to do things in this system" I mutter, finger lightly tapping at the triggers. "I need to turn this mission in. I need to not have a bounty on my head."

It's not just ON the pad, but inside the hangar as well .... this is not often appreciated. Even I made that mistake in the early days, thinking by entering the hangar, I was clearing the pad for others.

Unwise.exe, especially because ships on pads are invulnerable. :)
And that's precisely the reason some peeps do it (pad hogging), to get the RAEG reaction. 🤥

Yes, this ^

Coming to dock at a megaship, with no canopy and very little air, then finding the pad blocked by a basking commander.
Logging to solo in these circumstances, means you have to go through 15s timer (utterly stupid since you are not actually in combat)
And once you get in solo, guess what: you find yourself at 10km from the Megaship 😡
In my particular case, this experience ended with 🎆 since i run out of air the second i hit the pad, failing to clamp :/

You do not have to suffer the 15 sec. delay. Unless you are in combat, and then you would have bigger problems, than switching into Solo, under those conditions.

You should have planned ahead.

Yeah, but the timer still happens
Pretty much the same way the timer happens after you clear a guardian site and try to relog to do it again.

Carrying a little bit of iron and nickel around will let you get another set of minutes on the timer from synthesis.

(People have got to Beagle Point that way, so you should be able to find somewhere with a free docking bay)

The irony is most likely i had topped on most materials, but the only thing that kept rolling my cogs was dock asap dock asap dock asap
resynth air never came up :)

The problem is not the Cmdr, it is whoever was in charge of authorizing the flight operation carriers to be released with minimal docking pads. Not thought through in the slightest. This goes as far back as MB stating the outpost issue would be resolved.

Just add more pads for Christs sake.
