PSA: Your local Best Buy carries the Rift

Was not expecting this. Walked into one today and walked out with one. They're not on shelves - so you have to ask. No wait lists. The store I visited had 3 more "in the back". This was the BB Willowbrook location. Also have them in Humble. This is for Houston, TX based folks.

I doubt it's US only. It does seem a bit silly that pre-order customers get theirs after retailers. Unless, of course, retail orders > private pre-order customer orders, which is probably the case. So it makes financial sense for Oculus, but looks very messed up for customers like you. I'd simply try your local BB. Apparently my local district comprises 3 stores - and 2 had them available. So chances are good. But you have to call and ask - they won't show availability online. They won't even put them out on shelves. You have to ask, know the secret password and secret handshake. Btw - the Sales Associate I asked had no clue - took me to a Samsung desk. When I clarified that I wasn't looking for a Samsung product and that Oculus was in fact a brand, he took me to a Manager who insisted they don't have any. I asked them to double check on the computer and sure enough they had 4 in stock "out back". Best to call ahead - any store can search inventory within their district.
