Psychola - your opinion?

Does anyone else hate this ride as much as I do?

The ride itself is a pretty awesome thrill ride, the type of ride I would go on in a theme park.

The problem is, I hate everything about this ride in PC :(
The music is really cheesy, I don't get the theme at all, it looks really out of place compared to other rides, and it just looks unrealistic to me.

I really really really hope it's rethemed before the final release. Either that, or have it removed completely from them game.
Everything else in PC has wowed me, and looks so incredible. I just really hate the way it's been created :(

I like it, Hopeflly they add a spooky theme with a haunted house and such would fit in there without a doubt?

I think the theming is fine, perhaps not to everyone's taste, but there is nothing wrong with it. It will look out of place currently as it is has a horror and sci-fi feel, those themes will come later, hopefully. The floating brain is quite striking, I certainly think a different centrepiece for those who don't like it could quell crticisim. As for the music, well you can turn that off once the option is available.

They are not going to drastically change it, however, as some like it. So I would give up that 'hope', if we can call it that.

Best,
R.

I like the style of the ride. Why is it unrealistic?...I think it's well themed. I hope that they won't change it.

I don't love it myself but any do you need it removed from the game?

Just don't use it and it will be removed from your game.

I like it, if we could just change the colors thought it would be more versitile, and in a perfect world the textures too.

Psychola = pretty cool

Insanity = bad

please give the insanity a non-generic theme, the name is pretty bad too considering there are far more intense rides in the game. I've seen several inverter swings at various locations and each one has had its own unique theme. Wasn't it the shark themed in RCT3?

I dig it. I'm looking forward to seeing their spooky theme, they've been pretty hush hush about it and I really like where they're taking it.

I am like most though, it would be nice to have a generic option for these heavily themed rides so they're used more often.

It would be nicer if it had neon blue instead of neon green but I'm not really a fan of these rides with three different pieces of it spinning anyway. It just feels to fast for me. If they slowed it down a hit it would be better I think but then again I assume things like that will be included in the final alpha update.

I think the brain in the jar in the centre of the ride overkill.

I just find the theme of the ride doesn't fit the ride itself. If it was a spaceman or speed themed ride, I think the theming would fit better. I just don't really get how a spooky, creepy theme fits in to such an intense thrill ride. Generally, this theme should include rides that are designed to spook guests and make them jump, like a haunted house, ghost train etc.

In my opinion, the wrong theme has been used for the wrong ride on this occasion. It makes me not want to use the ride in the game, because I don't think it looks that great, and the music doesn't fit either. It's an intense thrill ride, it should have fast paced music for such an extreme attraction, along with a fast, speed theme, but instead we have something that looks like it's from a laboratory, and really doesn't do the ride justice.

Just to clarify, the ride itself is ace. It's just the name and theme that I don't think fits :(

They're facing a design issue where they've put so much detail into realistic aspects of the game that a lack of detail really stands out. Case in point the brain in a jar feeling well, jarring. When you put a lot of detail into making realistic acting animatronics/animations, you also have to apply that to something like a floating brain in a jar and they didn't.

This I think is the key point. If the brain was animated so that it pulsed when the ride was going on and you could see it hooked up with wirers as if it's controlling the ride then I think it would be fine.

I think an old-fashioned light bulb in the middle would have been a better design choice.

a. It would be less jarring, no moving parts.
b. It could have had cool electrical effects within the glass case.
c. It could fit into both horror and sci-fi, while also leaving it open for engineering, victorian and steam-punk.

Best,
R.

I don't like it at all..i don't like the music. I don't like the color scheme ...its my least favorite along with the twirly ride with the Ursula looking lady....I will not touch these rides. I don't even want to see them lol

Aye that would work nicely too :)

It is the Magic Twirl that is my least favourite at moment but that is because I don't understand what theme it is aiming for tbh. It seems like a mash up of different styles. To solve that though I just don't place it and well problem solved. I think to say to not even see them is a bit dramatic.

In regards to the actual Psychola, I do understand why it might not be liked in that it doesn't fit any theming we currently have but I do think that the theme itself for the ride is well put together and animated lovely other than the lack of true animation for the brain.

Regards,

Adam

That sounds like a better idea! And I would be more likely to use the ride, as it would fit across several themes instead of just one.

Not even placed it yet but I can see this ride fitting VERY well as part of theme, maybe Haunted House or Frankenstein type themes. Thing to remember is you dont have to place all the rides, i'm sure that once we get to the final edition it will literally be impossible to do so as there wont be enough room.

It's not my prefered one... I'm also not sure to understand the music and theme of this one. But I don't find it needs to be remove from the game if some like it.

I really do like it. It can be used in many themes.
Sci-Fi, Horror, Super Hero....
It is currently one of the more versatile ones though it is themed.
Removed from the game. Rethemed. NO! If you don't like it, don't use it.

Once insanity will be recolourable i will place it in my pirate area.
