Destiny 2 has a feature known as a Public Event. These are random PvE activities that spawn in patrol zones, allowing multiple random players to meet and complete a single objective, like defending an object or beating a powerful enemy.
This is an awesome feature which I thoroughly enjoy doing.
My suggestion is therefore as follows ( and please don't point out the obvious, or try to overlay this suggestion across the current ED release build; it won't work.

Galaxy Map:
EXAMPLE; the following displays as a popup window on the GalMap when you select the System Event's pin.
BOLG - System Event: Normal
The Pirate Lord Boaty McBoatFace has resurfaced and is terrorising the residents of Moxon's Mojo inside the Bolg system.
Intercept the Pirate Lord outside the station, and destroy him.
Important
: Pirate Lord Boaty McBoatFace is known to always travel with his most loyal crew; the Swamp Donkies
: Players: 1+
: Access to the station has been disabled during the event; the No Fire Zone has been lifted.
Rewards: Normal - Rare Gear
Difficulty: Easy [ this event will scale in difficulty ]
