Public Service Announcement (Modified Guardian Weapons)

Just FYI. Unlike the standard guardian weapons where you can unlock it once and buy as many as you need. You can only unlock one at a time. So to save yourself some heartache, gather enough materials to unlock however many to want to get. You want 4 modified gauss cannons? Then gather enough mats to unlock 4 of them. ( I found this out the hard way). Saves you time from having to go back and forth to the guardian sites.

Might want to consider this:

I think most players would agree to go for the modified shard if you're going for anything modified. I personally use standard gauss myself

I think the medium modified plasma charger is the best weapon. Modified shard can be better if your ship is a bit clumsier and needs to keep distance. Modified gauss is at best a sidegrade to regular gauss and many think it a downgrade.

Good info, not going to bother with these, grind allergy.

I'd thought I might look into this over Christmas when I'm off work. That's saved me some time lol, I can find something else to do now.

They would have, but they realized the old way took too little time.

I'm really excited for the possible Engineering overhaul next year. I hope that pre-stored materials will be invalid and all mats used to upgrade a module have to be collected within the hour of handing them in (y)

;)

The modified plasmas do more damage per fully charged shot. The modified gauss do more dps, and are slightly easier to aim but generate WAY more heat. Not to mention the gauss charge up before shooting can cause you to miss if they change direction.

From Prospect's Deep in Mbooni only these days, as the Witch jumped over the moon and took the Bright Sentinel with him (remember the clip?). Mbooni itself is permit locked, you get access via becoming allied with Azimuth Biotech by taking missions from the Glorious Prospect megaship in LHS 1163. Most efficient way for me was taking some 'infiltrate megaship' rep 5 ones where you simply have to scan a random megaship and then scan the ship log uplink which is no criminal act, did it all in my unarmed explorer DBX in about 2-3 hours.

Finally, you have to gather the mats which means returning to the Guardians for their fine blueprints again, this never gets old ;)

O7,

Thank you!

I have loads of materials so I think I’m good there.

That permit’s gonna be a pain, though …

No, it's easier than thought (was on the other side of the galaxy during the events). Azimuth (INRA) are the owners of the megaship, you have to get allied with them. The permit mission is locked behind allied status, a simple click and there you go, once allied.

You’re assuming I’m in a ship any way capable of completing missions …

Well, I’m there … they have outfitting to I have some cargo space … a quick 81000ls cruise and I’ll have my first rep …

A wing of modified plasma chargers is absolutely devastating if you can coordinate firing at the same time, and that's super easy.
