Dual Pulse is most allround effective. Beam + (frag)cannon is fun and a bit more involved. Dual beams is ok but a bit flimsy. Dual Plasma is silly fun (for killingstealing your wingmates). When I'm running a vulture I tend to do either Dual PA or dual pulses.

In a Vulture? I'd say use burst lasers instead. But I wouldn't use beam in that thing. It just doesn't have the power Captain!

Burst are far closer to beam in power than they are to pulse.

Generally, I'll use either fixed pulse or beam. The former if I want to have an SCB that can be used with hardpoints deployed.
