Pulse wave scanner not working

Fellow commanders,

I am sitting in a belt, got my AspX equipped for my first deep core mining session and I am a little desperate, because my pulse wave scanner is not working...

• it is deployed
• a firegroup is assigned
• I am in analysis mode

No matter if I hold the trigger or just push it: Nothing happens.
I tried different Pips-Settings, I tried various firegroup assignments, I logged on and off.
No pulsing.

Am I missing something? Any ideas what else could be the reason?

No, silly It makes a nice 'ping' noise and sends a ripple out to the surrounding rocks...

Minus the spellcheck correcting typo, it was a serious question. I was wondering if they were trying to tie these things (like the weird FSS and DSS views) in together or maybe see if mining was something I might want to bother with in the future for something else to do on a whim or for Engineer materials, if that's a thing.

Not much room on my Vulture to go mining, so I haven't bothered with it yet.

Still without any pulse.
Unfortunately - it is turned on.
But obviously it is not a common issue or a bug.

The PWA occupies a Utility, and actually does as I described (sorry, I was being light-hearted) a long 'ping' and a ripple spreading out from the ship to the limit of the module.
So far, it just 'works' so @Dunringill has a very odd issue!

It actually is a nice addition, translating the varying shades of 'glowing' rocks is the learned skill, along with rock shapes. PWS is only useful for detecting cores, although even core rocks can still be lasered until depleted and the cores still blown out.

have you tried re-logging? Its about all that's left.

There was a bug with some module or other that meant it had to be sold and re-installed at a station to work in certain situations but wasn't this scanner I dont think. May be worth a try though.
