Pulsing shadows... no planet is dark anymore!

ive got this thing for a while now, and its making me verry salty and it ruins my game.

every planet i go to, every station shadow.. even my ship shadows pulse... ITS HORRIBLE!

a while back there was something in the bug section about it, and i tried to search it, but its so much i cant do that.

please tell me there is a fix for this, cause im having a hard time to start the game up with this going on.

i7 4770k + Titan X in SLI.. running the latest drivers.

SLI is causing that, run the game on one GPU only

I have it sometimes when a moons direct sunlight is obstructed by the planet it obits, and that moon is indirectly illuminated by... something, then the moon's surface starts to pulse between faint illuminated and pitch black. Is that what you mean?

yeah but it goes on and off, and keeps doing that.

and it isnt just planets, it is all the shadows ingame.

its a while now that this is the case

I thought it was fixed in 2.1. I was sadly mistaken :(
I had SLi disabled for Project Cars on the Rift and forgot to re-enable it.. mind you, I don't necessarily need SLI for ED.

Thats a no-go for me.
I wont go back to playing on one monitor.

this has been an issue for months now, and im not the only one running SLI. So i guess im also not the only one with this problem.

Just because I don't need SLi, doesn't mean I don't want it :)
I wonder if there is a bug report for it already.. maybe one is needed, or an existing one needs bumping a few more times.
I want to see it fixed too.

Edit: yeah here's one.. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=262201&highlight=sli

I saw that one yeah. But it doenst help much :p

Might aswell try some older drivers tonight.
i need this fixed.. i dont want to bin elite because of this.

I have SLI GTX 680s with no shadow issues. In fact I am able to run everything on ultra with no frame dips (1080p of course). Unless it happens to be SLI with your Titans.

It sounds like it is probably drivers. If you update/downgrade your drivers you might want to do a full clean uninstall/install. I use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU, can be found on guru3d.com) and run it in safe mode, then install the drivers you want. It helped me with some graphics issues a while back.

I'm not sure how it will run with the newest versions of Elite, but Nvidia driver version 362.00 had quite a good reputation for fixing this on 1.5 & 2.0. Nvidia changed something after that which reitroduced the SLI issues on ED.

For me its 980ti's in SLI.
When I fly to the darkside of a planet and approach the surface... it then starts glowing and is no longer the darkside.

I did a clean Win 10 install yesterday, latest drivers but admittedly have not tried older ones, although had the issue for a while now, with previous drivers too. FD confirmed they are looking into it at least :p
