Punch 'n' Slice: Beam Laser + Rail Gun

Pre-determined at the moment, though you can play with firing groups. You do get to try a good selection over all the missions though, so plenty of opportunities to find your favourites.

Has the railgun behaviour changed now? It seems like it pretty much heats up in conjunction with the beam laser. Whereas before, I could fire a couple of shots while the beam laser cooled down, I now can only choose to use one or the other. The beam laser wins out 95% of the time.

Edit: Oops. I did a quick search for a suitable topic to post under, and just assumed this thread must be in the alpha forum!

I like the railgun for the first couple of shots, it seems to bring shields down faster than the laser. I'll lase to bring down the hull, the auto-aim very useful there, and then finish with rail or ramming. Heaps of fun!

The first time I used the rail-gun was very much an accident - I clicked the wrong button and my eyes widened when the ship I was tailing suddenly exploded. My subsequent attempts to play with the gun were thwarted by the heat-up...

In that case my good friend, you simply need to practice with the rail gun and learn how to use it.

It takes a good 3 or 4 seconds to charge up - that is plenty time to line up the shot.

If you are unsure of the shot - just release the button and it resets. I cannot think of anything simpler.

I think there is only ever a single heat gauge for all weapons. However, some weapons seem to always function regardless of this heat meter, e.g. missiles and projectile weapons.

Yeah, it confused me because there are separate gauges, but they actually always show the same readings.

I remember in FE2, the laser beam 5 MW, was redoubtable. Nothing could resist him. Yet there were also 30 MW and 100 MW, but the 5 MW was my favorite
