Purchase for friend as a gift - how to do it?

It is almost Christmas, and the store doesn't seem to present an easy and obvious way to buy the game for a friend.

I am about to do this, and I'm not sure the best way to go about it.

Do I purchase it on under my own account? If so, then how do I 'give' it to my friend?

Should I instead create a completely new account, make the purchase, then provide the account details to my friend?

Should I do it some other way?

Yeah, I'm interested in this as I want to buy Ed for my son for Xmas.
Is there a gift voucher or something you could buy that he could redeem?

When I did it, I just let them use my card to pay for it after they did all the ordering info and such. You can give them a gift card with the amount that the game will cost if you are concerned about your card being used improperly. A gift VISA or such is easily done.

Let the person play your chr a while to see if they even like the game. I pretty much wasted my money because the people I bought it for think it's too limited to be any fun.
