Purchased Odyssey Alpha and can't download or play

I purchased the Alpha expansion for Odyssey 3 days ago and I've verified the files today too, all complete it says but I don't have any way to download Odyssey, all I see is Elite Dangerous, doesn't even show the Horizons version that I've also purchased and been playing. Anyone know how to fix this?

try using the log of machine function in the launcher options as that can refresh assets owned else I aint got a scooby
doo as it also could be to do with where you purchased from ie if steam use verify integrity of game cache ect

if its the same as other steam beta then you need to opt-into the beta before your able to access it via steam

right click ED the steam library > select properties > select beta and odyssey should be listed

Same issue, no help from anywhere just radio silence. I only purchased to be one of the first people to stream some Alpha access today but I'm 12 hours behind and in 2021 time that's a lifetime. What I've seen looks good but man, I've never felt more slighted by a company I've sunk hundreds of hours of my life into over the last five or so years. o_O

if youve not already seen it see the advice here

I have personally had a similar issue but it more or else goes like this: It shows up on the launcher, I try downloading it, it pauses midway and doesn't resume. I try redownloading it and it keeps pausing at the same time and no matter what I have tried it doesn't seem to want to download.

1. I have ED on steam, where I purchased the alpha deluxe version.
2. When I click play on steam, it gives me the option for either Elite Dangerous, Elite Dangerous: Horizons, or Elite Dangerous VR:. You must select Elite Dangerous
3. When the launcher comes up, you are given the same options you had in steam, plus an arena option if you just want to play CQC (not what we're talking about, but saying so for clarity)
4. In those options should be Odyssey. If it's not there, you have to go to Options on the launcher, and log out. When you log back in again, be sure to use the steam option
5. VERY IMPORTANT: You must "link steam account" EVEN IF ITS ALREADY LINKED. This fixes what I think is a sync error between the launcher you have and frontier.
6. Repeat step 2, and check to see if Odyssey is now listed. It should be.

In my experience, I downloaded it, played it, it froze on loading after making my CMDR, I force closed it (after waiting like 7 minutes) and then when I tried to play it again it said "upgrade" like as if I didn't have it or something. Midway through I'd get some disk error (cyclic data blahblahblah).

What worked for me is navigating to my Steam folder, which should be Steam>steamapps>common>Elite Dangerous.

In that folder should be another folder called Products.
In "Products" are a few sub-folders, elite-dangerous-64 and PUBLIC_TEST_SERVER_OD.
DO NOT TOUCH elite-dangerous-64, but DELETE THE PUBLIC_TEST_SERVER_OD.

Essentially this wipes out the Odyssey stuff, while leaving your regular ED intact, allowing you to re-download it from the launcher and this is what worked for me.

Your mileage may vary, but it sounds similar enough to an issue I was having in the download that it might work for you.
