Pure luck 1.6mil cr in 10min

So thare I was at Ray gateway about to make a trip to gessi vision because I had a smuggling mission worth 200k . Decided to check the bulletin board 1 more time and boom 6 mining contracts for pellidium worth 200k each plus 1 more smuggling mission worth 200k to gessi vision. I did what any man would do I took all of them and ran at full speed to gessi vision, landed made 400k and bought pellidium and cobalt. Full cargo capacity I ran back to Ray gateway at full speed no pirates landed, delivered all the pellidium and sold cobalt for 100k profit. All of this happened in less than 10 min. Wow

Welcome to Elite easy mode.. Or Elite one extreme to the other. When I started in Gamma I scraped by in my sidy with 300c kill missions. 9000c haulage missions was big bucks. Only reached a billion in assets because I had 6 months of chilling on holiday and sending the girlfriend to spa's so she would stay out of the house.

Started an account on Xbox, within 1 hour I was in a Cobra, smuggling missions - 300,000 credits with no shields or weapons! Two weeks later my Cobra is maxed out and I have millions in the bank, that's while only having on average 45mins to an hour each day..

Not complaining, just find it funny how the devs seem to crumble under forum pressure and radically change aspects of the game. Anyway, congrats!

Right. Because obviously any game that's more fun than mucking out stalls with a spoon is "easy mode" and deserving of bottomless contempt...
Someone is grumpy.

I don't see contempt in his post. Snark, sure. And deserved snark, at that. Elite has gotten exponentially easier since release (at least where credits are concerned and after much forum clamoring), you can't deny that.

Personally, I like the extra money...leaves me time to do whatever I want.

Quit hitting the pipe and re-read my post :) Am not complaining at all, devs here have there own way of doing things - My point is they started out way too hard in Gamma, payouts where rubbish. But now it seems they have gone to the other extreme, 12 mill per hour smuggling slaves, newbies in T7's after a week.. I can easily make 700,000 credits picking up smuggling missions from one station to another.

I'm happy for the OP, it has no effect on me how much money others make in this game. Still, it has become incredibly easy to make money in this game.. That's a simple fact.

You only have to look at the wild swings in fuel, weapon balance, w&t. repairs etc etc... I just find it strange, we should have sorted this out before we hit Gamma.

Edit - Have always wondered how it looks to cmdr's that don't follow these forums, seeing the wild swings after every patch. Take a look at GTAV Online, changes are more subtle and logical. It feels very much like the devs are just experimenting in ED

I'm not saying it was easy to make a lot in this game it just seems the further you progress the easier it is to make more. It has something to do with your reputation. Cause it took me about 2 days to get an adder a week to get a cobra 3 days to get an asp 1 week to grind for an imperial clipper and using the clipper I had a python in 3 days.

Quit using insults. "Easy mode", "hitting the pipe"... Cut it out or... Actually, 'or' nothing. I'm just going to block you. I don't need your insults or your excuses for them. Goodbye.

lol where are you from? Hitting the pipe where I'm from means taking a toke from a bong and not seeing things clearly.. Are you that easily offended? Goodbye :)

Relax man, I do not see any maliciousness in his post. It does got much MUCH easier to make credits compared to what it was at launch. Great for the new guys of course, but it does make me chuckle reading post moaning how maintenance on a Clipper is expensive when it was already made much cheaper than before (and income greatly boosted).

Back when I started it was snow on the ground, I had no shoes and school was 10 miles uphill both ways. We had no food, just a pail with lard and some hair in it but we were damn proud to have it. You new people, you have it made with your monogrammed pails and your frilly sidewinders.

A pail? You lucky barsteward. We WISH we had a pail. When I started all we had were our frozen hands to carry the hairy lard, and that was only on cold days! You lot and your 100cr and free pails.

So, I think a good portion of the perception that elite has some kind of easy mode now is primarily due to the fact that established commanders see these crazy high rewards on the BB and think: "Oh man I could've bought a cobra in like two missions!"

This is kind of a fallacy for two reasons:
1) mission rewards are based on rank. Those missions award fractions of the values we see to unestablished players, and it still takes significant time investment to gain those ranks just like it always has

2) This game has a very steep learning curve. It's by no means the steepest out there, but the control mappings alone are kind of ridiculous.

Yes, as a brand new pilot in a fresh SW, I could get up to a cobra in record time - but a ton of that is because I now understand how the game works, I know what targets and goals I can handle and how to handle them, I'm much less likely to lose my ship, and I know how to use the galmap to find places that I can expect to earn good money at.

That stuff makes a big difference, and it's hard to really consider just how overwhelming 500,000 credits may seem to a new player.

Snow? Why you young whippersnapper! In MY day, the ground was covered with LAVA! And our shoes were made of really, really cheap plastic. That we had to make from gasoline. In our mouths. And if we wanted a pail full of lard, we had to make a pail out of rocks with our bare hands! And for the lard, we had to kill a brontosaurus with our TEETH! We prayed for the MIRACLE of getting a few hairs in it, and that MIGHT happen around CHRISTMAS! So ha.

Lava? You softie newcomer. At least you were warm. Our rocks were hard and cold. None of this malleable toastie warm rock nonsense.

And brontosauruses? When I were a noob, we didn't have anything so tasty to get our teeth into. We had scaly things that had just dragged themselves out of the ocean.

Well this topic has been derailed. Really guys I posted this thread because it was the luckiest thing to happen to me on this game. Usualy I'm trading makeing about 500k an hour. But you guys had to go off topic and started talking about snow lava plasma and acid?

High five on the trading. Oh and that's nothing... I remember when you didn't even have to dock to sell cargo. All you had to do was wave at the nearest Anaconda!

( p.s. gj on the sneaky trade... am just jealous!)

Well yeah, and we're all happy for you. Except maybe for the people who think playing games should be much more difficult than real life, because it's only fun if it drives you to suicide. But hey, how much can you actually say about making half my typical payout for an hour-long RES run in just ten minutes thanks to awesome luck before it's all been said? At least we're being pleasant and having fun. At the moment. :)

Also lava is cool. So is acid. And ice. So it's all good.

You youngsters and your short term memories. I remember when all this were vacuum.

I just cleared my save a few days ago and it did seem much easier, but a lot of that was due to experience. The best paying smuggling mission on the BB a few days ago, when I was penniless was 25k. That is some better than when I started back in December, but not a huge difference. But as I moved up the trading ranks, I did start seeing missions worth more and more. I'm at "Dealer" now and the best I've seen is 203k. But those are extremely rare; at least for me.

Can't say I like to see 3 missions, all the same to the same system to kill an escaped Prisoner, just with a different name.
Can't say I like seeing this Prisoner come up in a USS when I'm in a different system either. Sure, I kill him but no reward beyond bounty because not in the same system as the mission said he was.
I hope this is something FD can fix because it's killing my fun, as in immersion.
It also kills the idea that players could be tracked from system to system as they don't seem linked in any way.
