Purpose of Military Economy?

Just a question to see if anyone has seen a purpose or special feature of systems with Military Economies. I've had my Facece permit for several months now, and I haven't gone back there really since I recieved it. Only thing special about the system I can tell is the presence of about three Capital Ships. No special equipment (heck, not even a very on-par with industrial systems. No Rare Goods either.

So, here I am in Imperial Space. Just got my 'promotion' which allows me access to the 'Military' system of Facece. Now I can really upgrade my ship - Here we go.

Nope. They don't have anything of use. No Bulkheads, some of the class 3 weapons. Poorly stocked.

Very disappointed


System permits appear to be a waste of time unless (and here's hoping) there will be more content in Future updates?
 
Oh. When I saw that a system with a military economy actually existed in game, I got excited to try to get a permit for it. After cozying up to all the surrounding factions and getting no permit I gave up, assuming it was another "this page left intentionally blank". Turns out I was right, just in a different way than expected.

Yep, I was a bit surprised over this. The only kind of saving grace is that going to those systems puts you in touch with specific factions that you likely did not come across before. I presume 1.3 will introduce some conflict between Feds and Empire and those permit systems will kick in.
