So I've been working on my Federation rank and a side from the one ship that's locked to rank, what's the point? I know some missions are locked and you might not be able to travel to a few systems but a side from that how does it benefit someone? It doesn't really seem to impact the gameplay in a meaningful way, anyone else notice this?

well, like me you can fly around screaming to people to stop because you are an ensign in the navy. other than that it just sounds cool and that is about it. lol

yeah, well i am doing it mostly for the reputations with the major faction as well as doing it for the permits. other than that i dont know any reason.
